Hermle Clock
Hermle antique clock #791-681, church scene. What year was it made and the worth?
Wish to purchase clock for Mom's B'Day, March 25th. A person that has the clock wishes to sell it for $500.00 and I feel this is too high. Want to purchase the clock, but don't wish to get ripped off.
This is what I did so.. maybe my experience will help you.
I took the clock to a local clock repair/antique clock retail store.
He checked the clock out and told me it was a great clock but needed some maintenance.
Because he only deals in clocks he gave me an good estimate in his opinion of what the clock was worth. I then knew the date the clock was made and the history behind the clock.
I also checked on ebay for a similar clocks and found the estimated price was correct.
There are also lots of books that have history of clocks and prices.
