Crystal Regulator Clock in Carry-on Baggage?
Hi all. Has anyone tried going through airport security with an antique clock in a carry-on bag? I want to bring my antique crystal regulator clock from Japan to the US and I am not sure if I will be allowed to put it in my carry-on baggage. The clock is pretty heavy, somewhere around 7kg. It's made out of bronze, marble, glass, and porcelain. Thanks.
This is one that will drive the security guys crazy. the materials that you have specified are all impervious to xray and all timing devices are suspicious to them anyway. I would contact the airline before you show up in order for them to help you package and transport the clock. Otherwise it might be conficated or consigned to the checked bagage without adequate packaging. Check first to minimize problems later.
