How much is a S. Smith & Son antique clock worth?
I am trying to sell an antique clock that is made by S. Smith & Son. On the face of the clock it says 'S. Smith & Son', under that is says '9. Strand' and under that is says 'Paris Made'. I googled S. Smith and Son but can't seem to find much information on it or find out how much my clock it worth or when it was made. If anyone has any information on this company or any way I could find out when it was made, ETC, it would be a huge help. Here is a link to the photo:

If 'Ltd." is not at the end of S. Smith & Son, it is likely that the clock dates prior to 1899 and, judging by the style, your clock is typical of those made between 1860 to 1900. The company started manufacturing clocks in 1851.
Value will depend on the condition of the clock's mechanism and housing and, in particular, whether or not the former has had any repairs or replacements. Also whether or not the original key is available and the balance of the clock and if it is in need of cleaning.
Typically, clocks of this style, assuming that they are in good condition, can be priced at between $200 and $700. Keep in mind that those are retail prices and not what you would expect to receive at auction or from an antique dealer. Keep in mind that this type of clock, due to its weight, is fairly expensive to ship.
