I have a Westclox Pocket Ben of unkown age its amde in the USA and i was wondering its age?
i got it from a friend about 8 years ago. And was just wondering its age its still in working order even after getting wet. It's silver on the outside and gold looking tint on the inside. The plastic that covers the numbers looks aged its a lil yellow now.
These were really inexpensive watches. They were made likely between 1880 and 1940. Because they were inexpensive they were often considered 'disposable' which may mean very few in working order exist today. The model was also made in Canada and perhaps elsewhere in the world.
They were quite dependable but not up to the standards the railways would use - they wanted more accuracy.
