Anybody know anything about gastric bypass reversal..?? my orig surgeon is gone.?
I am 20 yrs old and 1 yr out from an RNY gastric bypass. I feel like shit all the time. I always have pain. the docs don't take me seriously. they think i am nuts. I have a hard time with food i must eat around the clock bout every 3hrs to keep my weight of 140. I feel like shit and look like a deflated balloon. i am pale too. I take over 8 meds a day and i struggle with chronic nausea, fatigue, perefrial neoropathy, hypoglycemia, scar tissue, vitamin d deficiency and my kidney function on my lab work shows that its low. i get pot bellied and my belly poofs out to look prego or something. I have chronic pain and it hurts soo bad. plus i have scar tissue as well. the docs won't help me cause they feel its all in my head. but my psych docs don't think so and when i am told i have normal labs and then i go to look at them there are big L's next to a bunch of shit. Why am i being ignored? I need help. I want my bypass reversed. It is causing me way to many problems, i am done.
it's not that the doctors think you're nuts, but psychological and emotional side effects are very common. most people who undergo gastric bypass surgery are emotional eaters so it's ok to feel depressed after the surgery. I strongly recommend consulting a nutritionist to solve your other problems, especially the hypoglycemia and peripheral neuropathy. give it more time, with the proper emotional support and diet, hopefully you'll feel much better and I'm sure you can think of many benefits that came of this surgery so don't give up just yet.
