What can be done about the adverse conditions in a house owned by an absentee owner?
1230 College Avenue Bronx, NY 10456, is a house owned by an absentee owner. The house is surrounded by drug peddlers and users. Tenants House selling drugs around the clock. The police come when called by the neighbors (who are home owners long time), but do nothing. This house ruin the neighborhood. The city wrote $ 15 000 worth of tickets for violations of sanitation. How can investors absent (Or group of investors) are available and is responsible for the condition of the house and the behavior of tenants?
The police and Department health with that. They have to find the owner, if in fact they go. The only problem is the amount of unpaid fines, nad they give usually the owner time to do it. The neighbors have no legal claim for fines, so can not really get involved. Police deal with crime problems, not the owner. The owners have no legal right to be involved in the application laws.
