Clock Pen
Thoughtful graduation gift for my friend who just finished college?
She's my bestfriend and just graduated from college, she's a little worried about her future and pretty stressed out right now and I just want to make or buy her something that will hopefull ease her mind or atleast make her feel a little better. Any ideas? I've been looking at Things Remembered where they do engraving and what not, but all the graduation ideas are really...childish?? other then pens and a clock...so any ideas would be great! thanks!
My first thought would be to buy her something that goes along with what ever her "Major" was. Trinkets and stuff from Things Remembered are nice as reminders of school and the event of graduating, but I think it's much more meaningful if you try and get her something that she will remember as having gotten from you, and that she will use a lot for a long time.
As an example; when I graduated, my cousin sent me a very expensive fountain pen - knowing that he and I like to write (yes, write!) long letters to each other. Every time I use it (whether or not I'm writing to him or his wife), I think of him, my graduation years ago, and the enjoyment of using the pen over and over. Get the idea? try something along those lines.
