Double End Size
dorms:double v. triple?
I'm trying to decide!both have their pros and cons
Double Pros:
-more room
-bed on the ground (triple beds are either bunked or lofted)
-one person to deal with and get used to
Cons:
-slightly more expensive
-could end up hating roommate
Triple Pros:
-2 roommates= better chance of liking at least one
-cheaper
-more friends (theyll be my friends (hopefully)pus theyll bring their friends )
Cons:
-very cramped (same size as double)
-can get crazy
-forsure no privacy ever
-i may end up the third wheel (my biggest fear)
which would you pick overall?
If money is of no concern then get a double. If money is of some concern then get a triple.
I can't comment on doubles, but you get used to living in a triple really fast... it takes maybe a few days before it feels completely normal. The craziness will all depend on your roommates... hopefully you filled out a survey to match you with compatible roommates (I've found that the most important traits to match are sleeping hours and level of alcohol consumption). The privacy thing also depends on your roommates. My roommates happened to both be very busy, so they were rarely in the room and I got a ton of privacy.
As far as fear of being the third wheel, I would have to say it really doesn't matter. You don't have to be friends with your roommates, you just have to get along with them. My roommates were friends before college, and to a certain extent I ended up being the third wheel. But I made plenty of friends on my floor and rarely talked to my roommates outside of my room. When I did talk to them though, we got along perfectly fine.
