sony projection TV needs repair?

my sony xbr projection tv is blinking the red standy LED light. I found out that the number of blinks indicates a code and supposedly the code thats blinking says the tv is overheating. I turn on the tv and two seconds later it turns off. I know I have to have it serviced but does anyone know more or less how much it will cost to fix the problem...by the way I dont have the extended warranty and it is out of warranty.

Cost can vary depending on the problem with the TV. As with just about any type of electronics and overheating problem can be caused by a number of things, not to mention it can cause other problems. It could be something simple and a 1 part replacement, all the way to your mainboard being fried. Even to the point the TV will just need to be junked. There is no solid answer without knowing 100% of what is going on inside the cabinet.
