Sessions Wall
What are the most effective methods to protect the knee during running as in exercise?
Suffered from knee problems recently began physical therapy for cartilidge rubbing the knee, however the bone is in great condition. The therapy will be for two sessions and the doctor has recommended wall squats (5 morning and 5 at night) to strengthen the quads. Any recommendations on protecting the knee when running as well as the best running shoes available.
I have the some thing similar, PFS. Stretching is the most inportant thing! Try bridges (try putting a pillow betwen you knees and squeeze your knees together when you go into the bridge to help strengthen your inner quads). Leg lifts with weights on your ankles help as well. I find that yoga helps with the stretching as well. Squats can be hard on the knees so be careful. The physiotherapist can teach you how to tape your knee as well.
