Clock Regulator
What is needed to do a complete service on my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD. 4.0 liter engine 110,000 miles?
The Jeep had sat 5 years without driving, etc. previously it had been properly serviced, etc. I have to buy the parts for a mechanic friend to do it and he's not charging labor. I'm trading a old regulator wind up wall clock.
You are getting a real bargain on labor.
OK, here goes my best shot.
The very least that should be done:
Tires have probably dried out and are no longer safe to use NO MATTER HOW MUCH TREAD is left. What happens is the sidewalls develop miniature cracks and they can just suddenly blow when they get hot throwing you head on into traffic or a tree.
Engine oil, transmission fluid, transfer case, differential should all be drained and replaced. With no heat to get rid of moisture they are most likely damp and will not properly lubricate.
Anti freeze should be tested and replaced if not good.
Air filter, spark plugs, and wires should be inspected. may or may not need new.
Brakes should be bled and calipers inspected to make certain they are not seized up. Rust can build up inside the caliper for lack of use. You step on the brakes and the rust will not let them release.
I suggest you attempt to learn why it was parked.
Good luck with that Jeep, I sure like mine.
