Visible Gear
1967 Jeep Jeepster Commando is stuck in 2nd gear. What is the problem?
My 67 Jeepster Commando has a 4-speed manual transmission. I recently had problems moving the second third, and now stuck in 2nd gear. After coming to a stop and some vigorous shaking of the butt, I could pop for free ... to get stuck again on my next quarter of a second. Clutch works fine and no difference with the engine running or not. The fluid level is full and there are no visible indicators. Any ideas ... links, internal ...??? Thank you!
I pulled the top of the transmission (which can be done in the Jeep) when the shifter is made. You either have a bent fork, a guide or sleeve is worn. It is not difficult to verify and you'll probably be able to fix it for next to nothing.
